This time it will be on using archival newspapers to enhance your stories.  It's amazing what you can find searching through old newspapers.

I did a search on my birthday in 1951 in December. Guess what was happening? Find out when you sign in for the class. (Should I not reveal my age? Oops too late...)

This is another of our series of teleconference classes. Only your normal long distance charges will apply.
The Wedding...

My niece, Katie, was a bride. She looked radiant. And the groom, Brian, was happy at her side. To be quite honest, the two of them looked like two peas in a pod, if that's possible.

During the service, Abby Lou, Brian's 21-month-old niece, dressed in white organza looked like an angel with her curly hair. She got halfway down the aisle as the flower girl and then ran back to her Momma. And Bo, her 3-year-old brother marched up bearing the rings on a white pillow and then wandered around looking a bit dazed until Brian leaned over and said, "that's great Bo, go over to your Daddy," And Bo ran over to the side while everyone laughed.  I did a reading and made sure not to look directly at Katie and Brian as I read, "and then He said, be fertile and multiply..."

The reception was at a golf course and the room was just the right size for about 70 people, lending itself to a feeling of intimacy. There was a deck overlooking the 17th hole right outside and the sun was shining and the rain held itself at bay.

The happy couple even rode out on a golf cart and had photos taken on a hill.

As we all sat down for dinner, Katie said, "we won't be having that glass clinking stuff. If you want us to kiss, you have to get the whole table to come up and sing a song with the word love in it."

Katie and BrianSo at our table we were all thinking of what song to sing. "Larry has a really good voice," said my cousin Mary. "He's in the chorus at our church." Meanwhile, Larry was deep in thought.

Someone chimed in, "how about What's Love Got to Do with It?"

"Totally inappropriate!" someone else said. We laughed.

"How does that one go," said Larry. "L is for the one I love..."

We all thought about it but couldn't think of the rest of the words. "That's not right," said Mary. Undaunted, Larry said, "OK then what about that one from the Music Man? There were bells on the hill, but I never heard them ringing, till there was you..."

"Oh, that's a good one," Mary and I said. So Mary and Larry and I went up to the head table and sang a few bars. Mary was right. Larry does have a good voice.
